Rebuild & Restore Your Hair Shine With Olaplex At Home

Olaplex is a hair treatment that is made up of only two active ingredients. It helps to restore the disulfide linkages that are often broken by chemical and thermal treatments. Olaplex also helps to protect the hair against damage caused by metals such as copper and iron. It does not contain any harsh chemicals or sulfates that can strip your hair of its natural oils and nutrients, and it does not contain parabens, silicones, or other chemicals that mimic estrogen. The active ingredient in Olaplex 0, Olaplex 3, and Olaplex 8, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, forms covalent bonds between protein molecules. This helps to reinforce the disulfide linkages of cystine residues located within the protein matrix of the hair. These disulfide linkages are often broken by chemical and thermal treatments, but Olaplex helps to prevent this. The second active ingredient, Disodium EDTA, is a chelating agent that binds to metal ions. It helps to remove metals such as copper and iron from the hair, and it also helps to protect the hair against damage caused by them.

Active ingredient #1: Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate

Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate is a chemical cross-linking agent, also known as BISGMA, which forms covalent bonds between protein molecules. This reinforces the disulfide linkages of cystine residues located within the protein matrix of the hair. Normally, these disulfide linkages are broken by chemical and thermal treatments, but BISGMA helps to prevent this. Active ingredient #2: Disodium EthylenediamineTetraacetic Acid (EDTA)

Disodium EDTA is a chelating agent that binds to metal ions, which can then be removed from the hair. It also helps to protect the hair against damage caused by metals such as copper and iron.
